About this dataset

ClinicalTrials.gov is the NIH-maintained registry and results database of publicly and privately supported clinical studies conducted around the world. This connector is backed by the AACT database from the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative (CTTI), a relational mirror of ClinicalTrials.gov that is rebuilt daily — so answers reflect the registry as of the latest nightly load.

What you can ask

Ask plain-English questions and the assistant translates them into structured searches: filter by condition, intervention (drug/device/procedure), sponsor, recruitment status, phase, study type, country, and start date; retrieve a full study record by its NCT id; or aggregate across the registry to see trends, top conditions, or the most active sponsors. Hits include an official url to the ClinicalTrials.gov study page.

Search by meaning

In addition to keyword search, you can search studies by meaning rather than exact words. Ask for studies “about” or “similar to” a topic and it surfaces conceptually related trials even when the phrasing differs — and all the usual filters (phase, status, condition, …) still apply.

Caveats

Trial registration is not endorsement. Records vary in completeness and timeliness, sponsors self-report much of the data, and counts should be treated as signals rather than definitive statistics. Always confirm details against the primary study record on ClinicalTrials.gov before drawing conclusions, and never treat registry data as medical advice.
